Growing together.The DevOps Engineer is a member of the DevOps Engineering Team and is responsible for the development and rollout of automated infrastructure-as-code and continuous delivery mechanisms which support Optum Insight’s Stratus Imaging solution in cloud environments. Reporting to the Senior Manager, DevOps Engineering, you will work closely with application development and SRE teams.You will enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within Canada (expect for the Saskatchewan province) as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:Develop new, update existing and support application infrastructure in Google Cloud environmentsDevelop new, update existing, and support reusable infrastructure as code (IaC) componentsAutomate the deployment, configuration, and scaling, of the applications that run on the above infrastructureAutomate the cybersecurity requirements and controls for deployed environments and software applicationsAssist with the set up and maintenance of all test environmentsAssist with the set up and maintenance of the production environment infrastructure and automationCreate and maintain documentation as required for maintenance and rollout of deliverablesCreate and exercise test plans as required for deliverablesAnalyze data from production monitoring tools and recommend changesAssist in the development and implementation of DevOps policies and proceduresWork closely and collaboratively in an Agile environment with our product development, operations, and support teamsYou’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:High School Diploma/GED (or higher)4+ years of experience in software development2+ years of experience with continuous delivery of cloud infrastructure and applications for enterprise SaaS or PaaS companies in public clouds such as AWS, GCP, Azure2+ years of experience in programming and scripting, particularly Bash and Python2+ years of proven working experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly Kubernetes2+ years of proven working experience with TerraformPreferred Qualifications:2+ years of Linux and Windows administration1+ years of experience with HIPAA compliance and the security of PHI data1+ years of automation and configuration tools (e.g., Ansible, Kustomize)1+ years of experience with software containers, preferably Docker1+ years of experience with network implementation, configuration, and monitoring1+ years of experience with Healthcare IT standards as well as with healthcare workflowsDemonstrated English communication skills (verbal and written) to interact effectively with peers and stakeholders*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.Canada Residents Only:The salary range for Canada residents is $61,400 to $127,500 per year.
