Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Accounting & Finance is a highly versatile position that provides the foundation, guidance and exposure towards a challenging and dynamic career. This role will be involved at various depths with financial reporting, business planning, valuations and forecasting. Will work closely with other finance team members including CFO, and other business groups (operations, sales, etc.)
Type: Hybrid, 4 days in office, 1 remote
Responsibilities
- Prepare consolidated financial statements on a quarterly and annual basis;
- Actively participate and lead the resolution of technical accounting issues;
- Liaises with external auditors for interim and year-end audits;
- Support tax team with provincial and federal tax filing requirements;
- Develop, implement and monitor financial controls and procedures while ensuring compliance with accounts policies under IFRS;
- Provide recommendations on business process changes, opportunities for improvements in process and control;
- Assist in preparation of various analyses and reports for senior management to support their business decision making, and for the board of directors including monthly and quarterly board reports;
- Support preparation of forecasting and business planning process;
- Support annual valuation process including in-depth review of models/long-term assumptions and the preparation of management presentations;
- Ad-hoc analyses and presentations on financial and operational results, as well as supporting any special projects;
Requirements
- Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA, CA preferred) with strong IFRS knowledge;
- 7-10 years of work experience in an accounting function, with a track record of high performance; li>
- Advisory or corporate finance experience at a recognized firm or at a leading organization would be an asset;
- Strong time management and prioritization skills with a history of meeting tight deadlines;
- Highly proficient in Excel, including ability to model and use advanced functions;
- Strong attention to detail, a must, with ability to deliver management ready materials;
- Self-motivated and pro-active, with respect to both managing workload and professional development;
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be an asset.
