Northern Health is seeking a champion with management and leadership experience to join us

Reporting to the Regional Director, Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S), the Regional Manager, Disability Management is responsible for aligning WH&S services within Northern Health's strategic and operational plans. Meeting the goals of a customer responsive service, the Manager will collaborate with leadership groups of client portfolios to ensure that the service and business issues are understood, supported and sustainable.

The Regional Manager leads the development, implementation and continuous improvement of workplace health and safety policy, programs and services to minimize the potential for occupational illness and injury, increase employee wellness, and improve quality of life. The Regional Manager is responsible and accountable for WH&S practices and regulatory compliance. The incumbent is also responsible for contributing to the development of broader human resource policy and direction.

Starting salary will be approximately from $106,026 to $132,533 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline plus a minimum of seven (7) years' recent, related experience in progressively more complex management/leadership roles in a large multi-union environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to manage resources effectively.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including management and staff at all levels, provincial and local union representatives, WorksafeBC, government agencies, vendors/contractors, and other health authorities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employee health and safety and HR theories/practices and an understanding of a complex multi-union healthcare environment to identify, develop and implement policies, strategies, and initiatives for the organization in line overall strategies.
  • Ability to apply superior conflict management skills and judgment to facilitate consensus, persuade/negotiate effectively, and to implement service/organizational change and transition both internally and externally to the organization.
  • Ability to identify emerging initiatives, trends and industry best practices and ensure full consideration in the development and implementation of service delivery goals and objectives.
