RATE: $58.80/hour HOURS : July 3rd - July 26th, 2024 in addition to set-up responsibilities; hours to be determined

JOB SUMMARY:

Support the orientation and preparation of Summer Online School teachers for their work in the Provincial VLE

Design and deliver a staff orientation in coordination with administration for all Summer Online School teaching staff, with a particular focus on the impacts of Generative AI in education

Assist in the creation of the course sections for summer online school classes

Facilitate late student registrations, removals

Respond to issues with students and/or concerns raised by parents - including attending meetings as needed

Assist in responding to and resolving day-to-day issues arising from the operation of programs (e.g. technology issues, student/staff illnesses, student attendance and participation, etc.)

Ensure timely reporting of student progress at midterm (to students and/or parents)

Assist in the set-up and timely completion of final report cards and comments by summer school teaching staff

REQUIREMENTS :

Currently a qualified Intermediate/Senior Teacher with Upper Grand DSB

Extensive experience with the Provincial VLE (Brightspace) and the Ontario eLearning Consortium’s Prism registration system

Preference given to those with previous online summer school experience and/or Principal’s Qualifications

Special Education Part 1 (or more) an asset

Demonstrated leadership in understanding AI and its potential impacts on education an asset
