Senior Data Engineer (Informatica Java Python) Exciting opportunity in the insurance industry for a seasoned data expert to lead the development of modern data platforms using Snowflake, Hadoop, Oracle, and Informatica. This hybrid role in Markham combines strategic impact, hands‑on architecture, and collaboration in an agile, AI‑driven digital transformation environment. What is in it for you Salaried: $90-105 per hour. Incorporated Business Rate: $105-120 per hour. 11‑month contract. Full‑time position: 37.5 hours per week. Hybrid model: 3 days per week on‑site (subject to change). Responsibilities Design, build, and operationalize large‑scale data solutions using Hadoop, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Snowflake. Develop ETL pipelines to ingest data from varied sources using Informatica PowerCenter and BDM. Lead the design and development of data acquisition and integration solutions involving complex internal and external datasets. Collaborate with product owners, analysts, architects and developers to create solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards. Ensure all data solutions meet governance, cataloging and quality standards. Provide technical leadership and problem‑solving support to delivery teams. Guide data model evolution and solution delivery within an Agile framework. Mentor junior team members and promote best practices across teams. Contribute to a culture of simplification, continuous improvement and innovation. Maintain flexibility to support extended hours when required to meet critical deadlines. What you will need to succeed University degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science. 8 years of experience designing and implementing data lakes, integrations, and data warehouses or marts. Deep experience with Snowflake, Hadoop, Oracle, PostgreSQL and Informatica (BDM and PowerCenter).> Strong programming skills in SQL and Java. Experience with Python is an asset. Familiarity with Guidewire Claim Center (GW CC) is considered a plus. Proven ability to implement data governance practices and standards. Comfortable working in Agile development environments. Experience in the insurance industry or understanding of insurance‑related processes is an asset.
