Responsibilities Provides leadership to the interprofessional team by coordinating client care activities, offering information and consultation, troubleshooting, and guiding the management of high‑risk clients. Supervises staff, provides work direction, schedules and adjusts coverage, sets priorities, evaluates performance, and contributes to hiring and performance‑evaluation processes. Monitors and evaluates the provision of client care, audits documentation, investigates incidents, and implements appropriate interventions. Participates in safety and security programs, risk management, quality‑improvement activities, safety audits, and incident investigations, ensuring timely and effective responses to all concerns. Facilitates staff development and orientation, supports the introduction of new skills and procedures, and monitors staff progress and performance. Ensures client record accuracy and completeness, communicates collaboratively with interprofessional team members, and liaises with external agencies and programs. Promotes research‑based practice by collaborating with others, supporting staff research activities, and implementing new evidence‑based policies and procedures. Assists with administrative activities such as budget input, resource utilization, and compliance with regulatory requirements, while recommending improvements to administrative processes. Provides clinical leadership, consultation, and screening to clients; evaluates client admission, discharge, and equipment needs; and performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Three (3) years of recent clinical experience in the designated area, including at least one (1) year in a supervisory role. Completion of a substance‑use certificate program. For licensed facilities: current CPR (C) and St. John’s Ambulance First‑Aid certificate. For Mobile Integrated Crisis Response (MICR) only: Enhanced Security Police Clearance. Clinical proficiency and expertise in the designated clinical area. Knowledge of community resources and health‑related support services. Leadership and supervisory skills, ability to coordinate client assignments, monitor workload and adjust assignments, and set priorities for client flow and discharge planning. Quality‑monitoring skills, ability to assess and address performance issues based on professional standards, and the capacity to contribute to formal performance reviews. Coaching, mentorship, and ability to identify learning priorities and support educational initiatives. Budgeting input, capital equipment management, and effective written and verbal communication skills. Independent work, problem‑solving, and conflict‑resolution abilities. Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
