Employer: ITPS (Canada) LimitedPosition: Flight Test Instrumentation ManagerTerms of Employment: Full-time / PermanentLocation: London, OntarioEmployment Address: 2410 Blair Blvd., London, Ontario N5V 3Z9Hours of Work: 40 hours/weekLanguage: EnglishBenefits:Eligible for discretionary bonuses and/or salary increases in accordance with company policy.Company contributory medical top-up scheme/ group health and dental benefits after successfully completing a 3-month probationary periodEligible for Employment Assistance ProgramEligible for basic life, AD&D insuranceEligible for three weeks’ paid vacation annuallyEligible for travel insuranceSalary: $ 150,000 to $160,000 CAD / yearContact: Please send resumes to melanie.obrien@itpscanada.com and include “Flight Test Instrumentation Manager” in the email subject line.ResponsibilitiesLeading and managing a team of instrumentation engineers and techniciansDefining department objectives, setting work priorities, and managing workflow to meet program requirementsFostering a culture of safety, technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvementManaging departmental budgets, procurements, tooling, and schedulingRepresenting the FTI department in cross-functional meetings, client briefings, and project reviewsCoordinating with test pilots, flight test engineers (FTEs), aircraft maintenance, and systems engineering to define instrumentation needsOverseeing the planning, designing, and integration of custom and standard instrumentation systems for rotary and fixed-wing aircraftEnsuring all data acquisition systems, sensors, transducers, recorders, telemetry systems, and onboard electronics meet program specificationsLeading the development and integration of FTI systems including wiring, sensor selection, data buses, and software interfacesEnsuring accurate calibration, validation, and functional testing of all instrumentation prior to flightMaintaining robust documentation, including wiring diagrams, interface control documents (ICDs), configuration control, and system design reportsEnsuring compliance with national and international aviation standards, including EASA, FAA, TCCA, and military equivalents where applicableCollaborating with the Safety Management System (SMS) team to maintain hazard assessments and risk mitigation strategies related to instrumentation activitiesEnsuring that work adheres to ITPS’s quality assurance policies, flight safety protocols, and airworthiness requirementsRecruiting, training, mentoring, and developing staff within the FTI departmentConducting regular performance evaluations and recommending career development pathsPromoting cross-training and knowledge sharing within the team to build technical resilienceInterfacing with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that instrumentation deliverables meet contractual and technical expectationsSupporting proposal development, technical quotations, and customer demonstrations as neededParticipating in reviews, including Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), and Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs)Keeping current with new instrumentation technologies, data acquisition systems, telemetry and processing toolsDriving innovation in the department by evaluating emerging technologies and incorporating them into future system designsProviding regular departmental reports to senior leadership on project status, risks, staffing, and budget utilizationMaintaining comprehensive project documentation to ensure auditability and traceability of all instrumentation workQualificationsCompletion of a two- to three-year college program in avionics or electronics is required8+ years of experience in flight test instrumentation, with at least 3 years in a leadership roleFour years of on-the-job or company apprenticeship training is requiredProficient in data acquisition systems (e.g., IADS, DEWEsoft), signal conditioning, telemetry, and MIL-STD/ARINC interfacesStrong leadership, project management, and interpersonal skillsFamiliarity with civil and/or military airworthiness certification standardsHands-on experience with calibration, sensor integration, and signal troubleshootingOccasional travel may be required to support remote flight test campaigns, vendor site visits, or client meetings #J-18808-Ljbffr
