Responsibilities Identify and address psychosocial issues in individual and group sessions. Act as a resource person and deliver services to clients, families, and others as part of an interprofessional team. Participate in assessment and treatment processes, engaging clients in discharge planning through individual and group sessions. Provide supportive counselling to patients and families. Lead existing groups and collaboratively develop new group programming. Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives, research and educational activities, program development, and capacity‑building activities. Support supervision of masters-level students. Contribute to a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork, and complies with regulatory and legislative requirements. Requirements Master’s degree in psychology, social work or occupational therapy plus at least 3 years of clinical experience in mental health and/or addictions treatment. Registered member in good standing with a regulated health‑care discipline (e.g., CRPO, OCSWSSW, COTO, CPO) and proof of registration. Experience in acute care of clients with a range of psychiatric diagnoses, sound knowledge of DSM‑IV diagnoses, and crisis intervention theory and techniques. Experience providing instrumental assistance to clients and facilitating psycho‑educational/supportive counselling and groups. Experience with motivational interviewing, CBT and DBT modalities is an asset. Demonstrated ability to work with clients of diverse backgrounds. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, excellent organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast‑paced interprofessional clinical environment. Excellent computer skills and knowledge of technology to enhance communication and learning. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language is considered an asset. Additional Information This is a full‑time, temporary (6‑month) position located at the Queen Street Site. The role offers opportunities for formal and informal training and education.
