Aquatics Programmer Job Description

The City of Prince Albert is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Aquatics Programmer to join our Parks, Recreation and Culture Department. This permanent position will be responsible for the administration, programming, and management of aquatics activities at the Frank J Dunn (FJD) Swimming Pool and Kinsmen Water Park (KWP).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective aquatics programs and services that meet the needs of the community.
  • Manage and coordinate aquatics staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating employees.
  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of aquatics facilities, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments and external partners to promote aquatics programs and services.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, reports, and other administrative tasks related to aquatics operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as recreation, education, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in aquatics programming, management, or a related field.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze problems, think critically, and develop creative solutions.

Working Conditions:

This position requires working varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision.

Salary Range: $55,608 - $67,056 per year, based on 2024 rates.
