Your Opportunity Our Alberta Water Team (based in Edmonton) seeks an enthusiastic, self‑motivated, detail‑oriented team player who is excited about municipal water infrastructure, stormwater management, hydraulic modeling and project design/coordination. The qualified candidate will perform various tasks including engineering design, calculations, modelling, fieldwork, data analysis, reporting, and other assignments in a friendly, fast‑paced environment. Key Responsibilities Support multi‑disciplinary municipal water resources and civil projects related to new construction and infrastructure renewal, focusing on municipal infrastructure (water and drainage). Perform detailed studies and design tasks associated with water related projects, including site civil, conveyance, and water resources projects. Write reports, design briefs and proposals. Take responsibility for the quality of written, technical and graphic work, and for completing work on time and on budget. Coordinate design drawings and specification development. Coordinate multi‑disciplinary engineering teams toward a common goal of delivering projects on time and on budget. Assist Project Managers with project set‑up, invoicing, financial and schedule management, change management and other tasks. Attend and conduct internal, client and contractor meetings and document the meetings with minutes. Perform contract administration as required for a wide variety of construction projects. Conduct hydraulic modeling (or oversee hydraulic modelers) on some projects (software including PCSWMM, MIK, WaterCAD, etc.). Provide technical mentorship to Engineers‑in‑Training. Share engineering knowledge with team members and be eager to learn from colleagues. Capabilities and Credentials Willingness to strive for excellence in all aspects of work and find it personally rewarding to meet and overcome challenges. Sound understanding of water, environmental principles, and engineering concepts, including hydraulics and hydrology. Strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure design and construction. Commitment to client satisfaction and the delivery of high‑quality work products. Previous experience working with municipalities, utility owners or in engineering consulting. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, responsibilities and projects and adjust to changing demands. Highly skilled in common desktop packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook). Strong interpersonal, time‑management and communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to produce robust technical writing pieces (e.g., reports or proposals). Flexibility to work beyond regular business hours when needed. Experience with project coordination and/or project management is an asset. Working knowledge of software for planning and design of water infrastructure facilities (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcMap GIS, PCSWMM, MIK suite, WaterCAD) is an asset. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or Water Resources Engineering from an accredited university, preferably in the water resources and/or environmental disciplines. Registered with APEGA as a P.Eng. or as an E.I.T. who will be eligible for a P.Eng. within ~1 year (or eligible to register). Minimum 3 years of demonstrated related experience. Work Environment: Typical office environment working with computers and at a desk for long periods. Field work may include exposure to the elements, including inclement weather. Pay Transparency Pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. The final compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience and work location. Positions may be bonus eligible.
