Diabetes Educator – Registered Dietician (GMCH) October 2, 2025 GROVES MEMORIAL COMMUNITY HOSPITAL Posting #2025-185 (TEMPORARY MODIFIED FULL TIME – 0.8 FTE) Position OverviewOne (1) temporary modified full‑time (0.8 FTE) Registered Dietician opportunity is available at Groves Memorial Community Hospital. Responsibilities Provide counseling for a variety of client referrals with a focus on diabetes education. Serve as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team to support nutritional care and educational needs of in/out‑patients, their families and significant others. Apply a sound knowledge base of nutrition in the prevention, care and management of diabetes. Leverage clinical dietitian experience gained in an acute‑care hospital to collaborate with professional colleagues and act as a therapeutic consult for nutritional services staff. Qualifications Baccalaureate degree in Food and Nutrition from a recognized university. Registration in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO). Dietitians of Canada accredited internship completed (or equivalent approved experience). Experience in diabetes education. Certified Diabetes Educator (preferred). Knowledge of the principles of adult education and chronic disease management. Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Proven organizational and critical‑thinking skills. Ability to function as an effective interdisciplinary team member. Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and willingness to actively participate in departmental educational activities. Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check. Must complete a Pre‑Employment Health Assessment, including proof of full COVID vaccination, prior to being hired. Location & Travel This position will be based out of Groves Memorial Community Hospital; travel may be required to all sites within the Wellington Health Care Alliance. A valid driver’s licence is required. Hours of Work As per Department Schedule.
