TD Securities Quality Engineering (TDS QE) is a group focused on providing world class testing solutions and expertise on a global basis within TD. Currently, the primary focus of the team is to deliver best in class testing services, tooling, and comprehensive test processes made readily available to all in TD Securities.

We are looking for a Test / QA Specialist (Lead) for Payments applications who is passionate about improving the quality of large-scale, mission-critical platforms in a fast-paced agile environment. As a Test / QA Specialist, you will be working with senior management and decision makers to assess and develop on opportunities to improve quality of the platform to deliver tangible quality benefits to our customers while managing a team of Quality Engineers across regions.

Accountabilities:

  • Champion the cause of Software Quality Engineering and Testing across Payments domain in TDS Technology and corresponding business, operations, and support teams.

  • Communicate the QE Strategy and secure buy-in from the Technology leadership team.

  • Collaborate with TD Platforms & Technology to adhere to standards on process, tooling, and methodology for Quality Engineering.

  • Execute on QE strategy as it relates to introducing tools, methodologies and processes.

  • Collaborate with teams in technology to align and achieve collective objectives.

  • Lead a geographically diverse team of Quality Engineers.

  • Retain and hire diverse talent across Canada, Singapore, and India to support the QE strategy.

  • Grow team expertise to align with business/enterprise demand and direction.

  • Lead a team of highly skilled professionals in an area of expertise, providing quality assurance on application of methods and practices.

  • Manage a team of Quality Engineers, coaching on knowledge, skills and performance.

  • Drive innovation culture.

  • Foster an environment/culture that encourages productivity, innovation, process improvement, teamwork and professionalism.

  • Build, maintain and evolve the culture and community of Quality Engineers.

  • Adopt new technology like Cloud adoption, Machine Learning, AI-based tools, RPA to enhance the capabilities offered by the QE team.

Who you are?

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role.

Must Have:

  • Overall 7-10 years of experience in payments and banking applications QE and testing as a lead or manager.

  • Good knowledge of Quality Engineering methodologies and practices.

  • Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills.

  • Experience in managing people and leading diverse teams.

  • Hands-on Java development experience working with GitHub.

  • Experience with different tech stacks like Mainframe, Mobile, Web, API etc.

  • Experience in:

    • UI test automation tools (Selenium WebDriver, Mainframe automation or similar)

    • API automation testing (using RestAssured, JUnit, Postman or similar)

    • Test Artifact Management tools (Jira, Confluence)

    • Dashboarding and Visualization (Kibana, Grafana, Tableau etc.)

  • Good experience with SDLC practices of Agile, Behavioral and Test-Driven Development.

  • Experience in continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Testing (CT).

  • Ability to work autonomously and manage complex application issues.

  • Collaborative team player and ability to play a leadership role.

  • Future focused - foresees issues and gaps and identifies industry trends.

  • Experience with Cloud, AI, and ML technologies.

Good to Have:

  • Solid knowledge on Payments Domain like SWIFT standards.

  • In-depth knowledge on the payment life cycle including the payment sanctions and gateway processes.
