ECC is seeking candidates for a Community Relations Coordinator position in Port Hope, ON. The Community Relations Coordinator will reach out to residents, community members, and the Municipality of Port Hope and help schedule work on their properties. This position will require strong communication service skills, as you will need to coordinate many different sites and multiple contractors requiring numerous visits to each site, all of which need to be agreed to by the homeowners. Additionally, this role will have administrative duties. In this position, you will:

  • Manage communication with multiple homeowners and subcontractors to efficiently coordinate work activities.
  • Prioritize tasks and schedule activities with multiple stakeholders.
  • Track and document communications through spreadsheets, checklists, and reports.
  • Respond to sensitive communication-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies that build loyalty and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare press releases and fact sheets and compose letters.
  • Other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of communication practices and techniques.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to multitask and work well under pressure.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance.
  • Work Experience: 2-3 years in a similar role or a position requiring strong communication skills.
  • Education: Associates degree in communications or a related field required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and/or awareness of the Port Hope Area Initiative.
  • Knowledge of strategic communications concepts, principles, and methodologies including social media, content management systems, and multimedia software.
  • Advanced degree a plus.
  • Preferably living in the local community.

ECC targeted salary range for this position is $60,000 CAD to $80,000 CAD.
Actual salary offered may be affected by education, training, certifications, experience, skills, level of responsibility, and location.
