Interior Planner

Interior Planner Detroit, MI 48226 (Hybrid) – onsite at least 3 days per week. Facilities Planner/Designer. Responsible for interior space management projects including planning, design, layout, and utilization of space, aligning with the organization's future operational expectations. Maintains inventories of facility space and furnishings, facilitates the establishment of space and furniture standards, and assists in setting aesthetic design criteria for new and renovated buildings. Responsibilities Prepare plans for allocation and utilization of space; design and coordinate layouts to meet building occupants’ operational requirements, arranging for changes in floor space as necessary. Develop concepts and supervise the design and fabrication of new equipment, furniture, and furnishings; collaborate with manufacturers on custom‑made items and arrange cost estimates. Monitor and ensure compliance with organizational standards. Prepare layouts to meet system needs and select furniture and furnishings that match building decor. Assemble and manage a project team (internal or external) to meet project goals and objectives. Prepare required plans and specifications for bidding documents. Assist in preparing and analyzing surveys and forecasts to support corporate long‑range and master space planning needs. Perform non‑related construction project work as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Facility Management, Interior Design, or a related field. Three to five years of architectural/facilities planning experience under supervision of an architect, related professional, or within a large‑scale corporate environment. Proficient operation of CADD MicroStation system. Proficiency with Autodesk Revit preferred.
