What You’ll Do
In this role you will be supporting the Sustainability & Innovation Manager in the development and execution of CTC’s decarbonization strategy as it pertains to the Real Estate portfolio. You will help assess, prioritize and recommend emissions reduction opportunities for existing and new buildings (e.g. stores, offices and distribution centres) and develop a robust multi-year implementation plan. You will manage the execution of multi-site retrofit programs, including the design, tender, budgeting, scheduling, incentive application, coordination, contractor management, safe & quality installation and program close-out.
As someone with robust knowledge of heating and cooling systems and energy-efficient / Net Zero buildings design, you will stay abreast of technological developments in these areas. Working with the Senior Analyst Energy Management, the larger Real Estate department and Business Unit operations teams, you will help identify and roll out sustainability initiatives that align with CTC’s ESG strategy.
What You’ll Need
We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of mechanical building systems, energy efficient or Net Zero buildings design that can apply their expertise to ensure successful sustainability program management. The team is looking for someone who has:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in building, engineering, technology, environmental science, or related field experience
- At least 3 years of experience in project management, ideally having worked on multi-site retrofit programs
- Good working knowledge of mechanical systems, energy efficiency and decarbonization technologies as well as understanding of Net Zero buildings design
- Ability to manage complex projects with a large group of internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills, and ability to influence others
- Ability to keep up with current market technology trends and provide innovative solutions to enhance the corporation’s decarbonization strategy
- Retail experience and/or experience overseeing contractors is preferred
- Genuine interest in contributing to the development and execution of the decarbonization strategy for a large Real Estate portfolio
- Familiarization with risk management strategies would be a nice-to-have
- Should be familiar with all MS Office suite
