As a tutor you will have a flexible schedule you set, teaching math, ELA, and SAT classes with Cosmo-provided learning plans. This is a perfect opportunity for experienced educators to connect with students after school. You will meet your students at a set time each week for 50‑minute one‑on‑one lessons, building a welcoming and fun learning environment and acting as a reliable role model for students who come well prepared, on time, and with a passionate demeanor. The base rate for this position is $20 CAD plus additional incentives and bonuses. Responsibilities Provide personalized 1 on 1 instruction for your students Update your availability in the Cosmo App in a timely manner Prepare appropriate lesson materials for the student's age and ability Submit Class Feedback after each lesson Communicate with parents and students in a professional manner Attend all classes on time and in a professional setting Communicate with Cosmo staff Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree 3 years of experience teaching grades K-12 in math, ELA, or SAT prep Experience with K-12 ELA/Math standards Teaching license preferred but not required Fast and reliable internet connection and access to a Windows or Mac PC with a minimum CPU of 6000 Able to commit to a minimum of 6 months of teaching with Cosmo 1:1 Available between 6-9 AM EST or 3-10 PM EST Monday through Friday or during the weekends Minimally 20 hours of availability on a weekly basis Access to a private and quiet location Passion for helping students learn Currently located in the United States or Canada Approachable: builds rapport and makes students feel comfortable in an online classroom environment Patient: ensures students understand complex subjects at the required pace Adaptive: tailors lessons and environments to each student’s needs and learning capabilities Considerate: shows emotional intelligence to support discouraged students Enthusiastic: passionate about education with contagious energy Reliable: arrives on time, prepared, and ready to tackle students’ needs Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Cosmo by 2x.
