Interpret basic architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings. Under supervision examine structural systems to satisfy architectural, mechanical, and electrical requirements. Under supervision, make technical decisions on routine projects. Conduct routine site reviews during construction under supervision. Write basic field review and technical reports. Prepare engineering design, specifications and/or recommendations for a variety of structures under supervision. Understand and apply CSA standards related to concrete, steel, masonry, and wood design and construction. Conduct facility evaluations under supervision by a senior teammate. Gain an understanding of quality control. Adhere to the company policies and guidelines as well as the company and client safety policies and practices. Have the ability to apply for a Federal security clearance in order to work on institutional projects as required. Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • May hold a Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) status with appropriate Provincial Association.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license.
