The majority of the work will involve consulting related to mine permitting and closure, with the ability to pursue a technical specialty in a mine closure related field. The successful candidate would be based in one of SRK’s Canadian offices, and work on projects in Canada and abroad as part of a larger team of engineers and scientists in SRK’s Canadian Geoenvironmental team.The Position Involves The Following Range Of Typical ActivitiesTo consult on projects for Canadian and international clientsComplete assignments primarily related to the mining industry, specifically:Collaborative development of mine closure plansProject management of technical deliverables, budgets and schedulesPreparation of proposals and cost estimationsPreparation of environmental audits and due diligence reportsOther duties as requiredAn undergraduate degree in the physical sciences (e.g. geology or environmental science) or engineering (e.g. environmental or geological)A minimum of 8 years of experience in the mining industry, some operations experience is preferredMine closure and reclamation experienceKnowledge of environmental and mining regulationsStrong interpersonal communication and writing skillsAbility and desire to collaborate with other technical specialists in mining, including geochemistry, geotechnics, groundwater, and environmental disciplines, in a team-oriented environment.Ability to establish and maintain client relationshipsThis position involves working in multi-disciplinary teams on a range of projects both nationally and overseas; international travel may form a significant part of the role.In return for considering a future with us, we offer:An attractive compensation package.Diversity of projects and clients within a non-hierarchical consultancy environment.Opportunity to purchase shares in the company; the SRK Group is an independent group, owned by its employees.The estimated base pay range for this position is $110,000 to $200,000.
