Title: Accounting Manager

The position of Accounting Manager is available in a boutique, Vancouver based Real Estate Developer. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day accounting functions and work closely with various departments, external accountants, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and manage accounting systems to suit the company's needs and requirements.
  • Establish and maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Oversee full-cycle accounting for multiple real estate development projects.
  • Build and manage an accounting team to meet the company's needs.
Accounting and Reporting:
  • Prepare job cost reports and monthly budget updates.
  • Manage construction draws, intercompany entries, and reconciliations.
  • Process payroll and oversee accounts payable/receivable clerk duties.
  • Review month-end financial statements.
Year-End:
  • Collaborate with external accountants to prepare annual financial statements.
  • Assist with tax compliance matters and corporate reporting.
Other Duties:
  • Provide treasury management services, including online banking activity.
  • Conduct cashflow forecasting and provide recommendations on best practices.
  • Perform ad hoc accounting and finance tasks as required.
Requirements:
  • Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • 5+ years of experience in intermediate or senior accounting roles within real estate property and development industry.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite and Yardi Voyager.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to prioritize multiple deliverables and manage competing deadlines.
  • Natural problem solver with ability to identify and resolve issues.
