Detailed Overview Performs various electroneurophysiological tests including EEG tests and recording for carotid endarterectomy; evaluates test results and provides test information for interpretation by the medical staff. Performs supply and equipment maintenance, maintains procedure manual and workload measurement statistics/information. Responsibilities Conduct EEG tests on patients, operating digital equipment and adjusting it during procedures to capture accurate data. Formulate technical preliminary reports by analysing recordings, describing abnormal manifestations, and forwarding impressions to the neurologists. Prepare for patient tests by reviewing requisitions, case history, and assessing the nature of problems to determine the test approach. Attach electrodes, monitor patient comfort, and ensure patient ease while obtaining required results. Set‑up and monitor carotid endarterectomy during OR procedures, advising the surgeon of any changes. Ensure equipment functions correctly, reporting problems to Biomedical for servicing and calibrating equipment as needed. Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and equipment and contribute to capital equipment acquisitions and budget planning. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience Graduation from a recognised programme in Electroneurophysiology Technology plus one year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Eligible for registration with the Canadian Board of Registration of Electroneurophysiology Technologists (CBRET) and/or the Board of Registered Electromyography Technologists of Canada (BRETC). Skills and Abilities Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to work effectively with others. Ability to operate related equipment. Ability to organise work. Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
