The Opportunity
The Digital Transformation & Business Delivery team at the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) is recruiting for a specialist who can support the development of new and enhanced regulatory technology capabilities. As the Product Deliver Specialist you will work collaboratively with a wide range of professionals to deliver new innovative technology products that satisfy policy and regulatory requirements and are designed with users in mind. This requires strong analytical skills, the ability to balance competing priorities, a desire to learn, and a clear vision for what is possible.
Do you want to learn more about regulatory processes, technology development, and the regulatory decision framework? What your day-to-day will look like:
Collaborate with cross divisional teams to gather and document policy and regulatory requirements in a way that can be used to build technology products.
Ensure high product quality by working with the team to communicate requirements, develop and execute system test cases, and work to resolve issues that emerge.
Anticipate and seek to overcome obstacles that could impact project schedules and product outcomes.
Develop training and reference material for internal and external audiences about the product and function as a subject matter expert during development and system training sessions.
Be a change agent for new technology solutions by sharing information, soliciting feedback throughout the development process, and increasing awareness among peers.
Act as a key liaison with industry during development and post release.
Support changes to associated regulatory instruments (directives and manuals) to ensure consistency between regulatory instruments and technology solutions. Work within existing processes to get regulatory instruments updated, approved, and published.
Collaborate with colleagues in strategic alignment sessions to establish and maintain enterprise standard approaches to product design and program delivery.
What we're looking for in you:
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Engineering, Business, Resource Management, or a related field.
5+ years of experience demonstrating progressive skill development in a fast-paced environment with project timelines, collaborating across project teams.
Applied knowledge and experience with the OneStop system and/or other regulatory process systems is required
Able to act independently in an environment of high complexity, significance and/or uncertainty that contains divergent views and limited precedent.
Broad understanding of the AER's mandate, its priorities, the regulatory decision framework, operational practices, and software and technology solution delivery.

A willingness to collaborate and a belief in the importance of building strong relationships, fostering a positive organizational culture, and a readiness to collectively find ways to solve problems to ensure that the enterprise is successful.
