OverviewFT Nurse Manager- MEN’S CENTRE - Transitional Beds Program at Good Shepherd Hamilton & Toronto. This role leads the Transitional Beds Program with a 10-bed inpatient unit dedicated to providing comprehensive homecare services, with potential for expansion.ResponsibilitiesReport to the Director of Men’s Centre; be a key member of an interdisciplinary team that promotes recovery, empowerment, and improved quality of life for men who are homeless or precariously housed, and who may be struggling with addiction and mental health.Ensure service delivery is executed with an inclusive and non-judgmental lens; motivate patients to engage in health literacy.Adhere to the Organization\'s Mission, Vision, and Values; observe policies and procedures; maintain a strong work ethic.Provide dignified, culturally competent, and respectful care within an integrated anti-racist/anti-oppression framework.Facilitate referrals by collaborating with local hospitals and staff to ensure smooth discharge planning and admission to the Transitional Beds Program.Collaborate to provide quality nursing care by ensuring documentation and data collection on patients\' physical and psycho-social status, and communicate this to team members and visiting physicians (rounds twice per week).Oversee coordination of patient care plans, evaluate progress toward goals, and respond to changing patient needs.Onboard new staff to program policies; conduct regular supervision and annual performance reviews; lead regular staff meetings and pursue professional development for self and team.Maintain health and safety compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and minimize risk to clients, staff, and property.QualificationsRegistered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario, currently authorized to practice in Ontario, with at least 5 years of clinical practice.Knowledge of current nursing principles, strong communication skills (verbal and non-verbal), and awareness of personal limitations.Mandatory courses: WHMIS and CPR; valid driver\'s license.Knowledge of biological, physical, and behavioral sciences; experience with marginalized populations, mental health, and addiction.Experience with Harm Reduction principles and practices; willingness to integrate Harm Reduction in service delivery.Recommended training includes Non-Violent Crisis Intervention; willingness to pursue educational advancement.Ability to remain calm and manage stress in emotionally sensitive situations; flexible and able to adapt to changing environments.Commitment to creating a welcoming, respectful atmosphere for clients, staff, and stakeholders; respect for patient choices and care preferences.What We OfferA caring team that supports the local communitySupport for continuing education and professional developmentStaff recognition programs with access to self-care supports and employee assistance programs (EAP)Extended health benefitsEqual Opportunity and AccommodationsGood Shepherd is an equal opportunity employer operating within an anti-racist and anti-oppression framework; we strive to reflect the diversity of the community we serve.
