The opportunity: Reporting to the Supervisor, IT Services Desk, the IT Technical Specialist will act as a Single Point of Contact to provide timely and effective IT Hardware and Software Systems support across the organization via Email, Telephone, Remote and Face to Face Support. Key Responsibilities Resolving all IT concerns via Email Chat, Phone, Remote or Face to Face Support. Identifying the Urgency and Severity of a reported case and escalating to relevant stakeholders. Collaborating with different IT Teams to ensure that IT needs are met. Hardware & Software Setup Installing Computer Hardware, not limited to laptops, laptop docks, monitors, printers, multimedia devices, network devices and Desk Phones. Installing all necessary software to install devices ready for use (e.g. Windows, Office 365, Adobe Suite, other approved applications). Assisting with both New Employee On-boarding and Advisor On-boarding. System & Infrastructure Management Operating, monitoring, and maintaining several Information Systems including: Teams Phone Solutions. Database Systems. Knowledge Management Systems. Ticketing Systems. Campaign Management Systems. File Repository Systems. Office Automation Systems. Media Hosting Systems. Content Management Systems. Participating in planning, implementation, and growth of AWS infrastructure. Documentation & Process Improvement Creating Knowledge Base Article/s for common and critical issues. Documenting processes and suggesting improvements in place. Providing recommendations to optimize current IT Performance to prevent problems in future. Acting as a liaison for Technology and Operational Software requirements supported by third party vendors. Testing and analyzing current and future IT Systems as required. Performing Other Duties as Assigned. Ideal Candidate A technical diploma or a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or related field. IT Service Desk experience required in a Microsoft/Windows based environment. Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is an asset. Microsoft Certification an asset. Amazon Web Services (AWS) certifications in a variety of specialties is an asset. Proficiency with the MSOffice suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook. Knowledge of Incident and Problem Management Processes and Tools. Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Exchange, Azure, Windows, and Active Directory is an asset. Strong critical thinking and written and verbal communication skills. Strong sense of urgency during outage situations or critical application issue resolution. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Demonstrate a high level of accountability, reliability, adaptability, and innovation in accomplishing day to day work and long-term goals. Exemplary interpersonal and influencing skills; an ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively, across multiple mediums (in-person, over the phone, and virtually). A high tolerance for ambiguity; highly adaptive and able to manage a large volume of competing priorities. An ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality. Conditions of Employment Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Must be able to travel 0-20% of the time.
