Join to apply for the Junior Mechanical Designer role at BBA Consultants Overview As a designer, you’ll be involved in delivering engineering projects, selecting technology and helping execute projects in the hydroelectric power, mining and heavy industry sectors. You’ll be based at our Mont-Saint-Hilaire or Québec City office. You’ll play a key role in all phases of engineering projects, ensuring exceptional technical quality of deliverables. What You'll Do Design various systems and equipment in 3D Work with point clouds (3D scanning) Select equipment for hydroelectric, mining and industrial applications Create layout drawings of mechanical equipment and systems Perform onsite technical information surveys Perform detailed calculations Assist more experienced personnel with the technical aspects of complex tasks Prepare plans and specifications based on guidelines Foster a workplace culture that promotes having fun while delivering high-quality professional work Our Culture & Values Results-driven Independent and adaptable Proficient at problem solving Client-oriented Ability to maintain positive peer relationships Requirements College diploma in mechanical engineering technology Up to five years of experience Experience with 3D design Available to travel occasionally between the Mont-Saint-Hilaire and Montréal offices Available for short assignments at client sites Advanced level of French to collaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients in Québec Intermediate level of English to collaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients in English‑speaking Canadian provinces and internationally Asset: experience in the heavy industry sector (mining, petrochemicals, energy, etc.) Asset: familiar with SolidWorks, Revit, SmartPlant 3D, CADWorx, Ansys and AutoCAD applications Asset: knowledge of welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, welded assemblies and structural design Asset: multidisciplinary knowledge (electricity and automation) Benefits & Rewards Annual base salary Annual premium program for all regular employees Onsite mobility premium Access to a time bank Cellphone program Group insurance plan that starts on day 1, including short-term and long-term disability insurance and a telemedicine program Retirement savings plan Annual vacation and sick leave A premium through the Employee Referral program About BBA BBA is one of Canada’s leading private consulting engineering firms, with over 45 years of experience serving the energy and natural resources industry.
