A role as an Analyst in the Loan Structuring & Syndication team (“LSS”) at National Bank Financial Markets (“NBF”) means actively participating and supporting team members from A – Z in the life cycle of a bank loan. The Analyst will support team members from the origination of a bank loan to its distribution (if syndicated) and financial close across a diverse range of industries and the credit spectrum (i.e., leveraged loans to investment grade financings).

The Analyst will evolve in a team of highly motivated professionals, collaborate and learn about a broad range of capital markets products within NBF. This position will appeal to individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and high-energy environment.

Your Job

  • Conduct financial and comparable transaction analysis to propose supportable and syndicatable financing structures.
  • Prepare marketing and pitch materials to be presented to existing and potential clients which could include financing terms and conditions, syndication strategies, capital structure considerations, benchmarking analysis, and other applicable information.
  • Help manage the distribution process in the syndication of transactions under the corporate portfolio in Toronto, including coordinating lender meetings, virtual data rooms, lenders’ Q&A, etc.
  • Develop a network with corporate banking and syndication desks at other financial institutions.
  • Maintain pitch resources and benchmarking databases.

Excellent numerical and analytical abilities with a good understanding of financial transactions and their related risks.Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, both with internal and external stakeholders.Excellent communication and writing skills with an ability to present ideas in a concise and well-structured manner.Fluency in English and French is required.Well-developed computer skills, with an emphasis on Microsoft Office Suite.

Languages: Reason to require this language: you will need to work closely with our colleagues outside Quebec.
