The Role

This position is responsible for the design, refactor, execution, assessment, security, and troubleshooting of software programs and applications. This includes configuring, coding, developing, and documenting software specifications throughout the project life cycle. In addition, the Software Engineering stream provides day-to-day operations and production support, including off-hours problem resolution of supported applications.

Strategy and Planning

  • Evaluates priorities, design goals, risks, options, and compromises and recommends the most suitable approach.
  • Familiar with architectural patterns that contribute to the production of secure, reliable, manageable, and high-performance solutions.
  • Perform architectural modelling to assist in determining solution efficacy.
  • Performs estimating, prioritizing, planning, and coordinating of work to meet delivery timelines.

Acquisition and Deployment

  • Perform research on emerging patterns and tools.
  • Performs detailed technical design of proposed solutions.
  • Evaluates relevant technical risks and determines mitigation strategies.

Operational Management

  • Develop and review software programs, code, and unit tests for new and existing applications and systems, ensuring functional and non-functional requirements are met.
  • Develop and maintain supporting documentation as required.
  • Participates in development, implementation, and maintenance of plans to ensure continuation of critical operations in the event of a disaster or interruption.

What You Bring To The Team

  • 7-9 years of experience in Software Development.
  • Experience in building YAML based CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps.
  • Working experience writing and managing docker containers using Docker Swarm or Kubernetes as orchestrator.
  • Hands-on experience using Linux or at minimum Windows Subsystem for Linux.
  • Experience in designing and writing RESTful services.
  • Experience in modern security protocols and standards such as OpenID and OpenID Connect.
  • Experience in Test Driven Development (TDD) or Behaviour Driven Development (BDD).
  • Demonstrable experience writing clean and maintainable code using modern design patterns and practices such as 12-factor methodology.
  • Demonstrable understanding of SOLID principles and modern cloud native patterns.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Technical Skills

Nice to Have: .NET/.NET Core/ASP.NET/MVC, Vue 3 or any other UI library.
