Bossons Pharmacy and Home Health Care is seeking a motivated, forward-thinking team player to work in a dispensary setting as a Clinical Pharmacist. The pharmacy is looking to expand with additional pharmacist coverage and is looking for a leader and passionate member of the profession.

The pharmacy is a locally owned, community-driven practice priding itself on patient relationships and personalized care. Bossons Pharmacy is also proud to be a part of the University of Waterloo Pharmacy preceptor program for fourth-year pharmacy candidates.

The candidate should be a self-starter, be able to think on their feet, and contribute ideas as part of a team-based approach to the running of the pharmacy. The candidate must also be willing to learn new tasks, take on additional roles as required, and be flexible.

The candidate will have the opportunity to cross cover at a second location in a small medical practice in Strathroy when required (Pharmacy on Metcalfe). This site is a small boutique pharmacy with strong clinical ties with staff physicians, physician residents, nurse practitioners, and other allied health.

Hours include: daytime shifts only (9:00 AM to 6:00 PM) Monday through Friday with an occasional weekend. Shift complement will be four to five days per week (flexible) with the option to extend to additional days if requested/required.

Tasks included:

  • Daily dispensing of medications with a strong focus on patient counselling.
  • Perform patient interviewing, education, and prescribing when warranted.
  • Collaborating with pharmacy staff, local physicians, and allied health members in a team-based setting.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a degree in Pharmacy from an accredited Canadian University.
  • Licensed by the Ontario College of Pharmacists and a member in good standing.
  • Valid first aid/CPR and injection training.
  • Strong communication skills are a requirement.

Other Details:

  • Experience with Propel Rx and McKesson suite is an asset.
  • Compensation is competitive based on experience and candidate's assets to the pharmacy.
