Our valued public sector client is seeking a Senior bilingual Strategic Communications Coordinator to support the Council and its Working Groups.
Background:
The position would include both external and internal communications work. Internally, the Coordinator would help streamline and coordinate communication/communication projects between the CCFM’s various working groups, task teams and the CCFM secretariat as needed.
- Developing and executing a strategic communications plan for the CCFM by setting priorities, processes, defining audiences, adopting various methods and establishing key performance indicators.
- Creating and articulating communication plans for each working group and task team.
- Writing and creating communication products, including reports, key messages, and press releases, to assist the CCMF in advancing its strategic priorities (e.g. climate change adaptation, forest sector innovation and competitiveness, biodiversity and community safety) while ensuring messaging is clear, digestible, and cohesive.
- Updating and creating new content for the CCFM website and identifying other communications channels (e.g. social media) the CCFM could consider using to expand its reach.
- Coordinating CCFM’s communications products and activities and providing editorial expertise to Working Group and Task Teams to advance the CCFM’s “Shared Vision: Toward 2030” and the CCFM Strategic Priorities.
- Fostering cohesion across CCFM Working Groups, Task Teams and the Forest in Mind Program to generate common and well-coordinated communications products and messaging.
- Assisting the Forest in Mind Program to address international forestry issues.
- Conducting issues analyses – including identifying contentious topics -- and then proactively developing practical communications strategies and products the CCFM could use when responding/addressing these issues. Maintaining direct ties with external clients, including industry leaders, stakeholders, and media to promote the work of the CCFM within the broader community and identify potential outreach opportunities.
- 10+ years experience as a Communications Consultant
- Must have a related Degree or Diploma and Relevant Certificate
- 5+ years experience in the natural resources sector such as forestry
- 2+ years of experience working with Public Relations.
