About the Position The UTMB Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Nephrology is seeking a Transplant Nephrologist to join the UTMB Texas Transplant Program. The successful candidate must also be eligible to play a leadership role in our upcoming ACGME‑accredited Transplant Fellowship. Responsibilities Provision of care to pre‑ and post‑kidney transplant patients at UTMB, including development of the living donor transplant program, optimization of transplant outreach to the community, guidance of the quality components of the program, and increased referrals to special programs such as the Weight Loss Program. Special consideration will be given to cultural competency and fluency in Spanish. The physician will also participate in teaching and training of medical students, residents, and fellows. Candidate Requirements M.D. or D.O. degree. Completion of an ACGME‑accredited Internal Medicine Program and a Transplant Nephrology Fellowship program. Board Certification/Eligibility in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. Strong commitment to patient care with demonstrated ability to mentor and teach medical students, residents, and fellows. U.S. Citizenship or Employment Authorization to work in the U.S. Ability to obtain an unrestricted Texas Medical License. Income Package Salary will be commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, experience, and educational background.
