Responsibilities include independent nursing services, administration of prescribed medical treatments, leadership within the healthcare team, and facilitating coordination of patient care and discharge. The RN demonstrates commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the region/facility/unit. Responsibilities Provide professional registered nursing services for patients with complex and unpredictable health needs. Administer prescribed medical treatments. Serve in a leadership role within the healthcare team. Coordinate and facilitate patient care and discharge planning. Demonstrate commitment to the organization’s vision, values, goals, and objectives. Experience Preference given to those with recent hematology oncology experience. Satisfactory employment record required. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program required. CNA certification in Oncology preferred. Certification/Licensure/Registration Maintain and provide proof of registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM). Active participation in professional associations e.g., Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training per employer policy. Qualifications and Skills Knowledge of the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses, Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses, Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA), and regional/facility/unit policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines. Knowledge of nursing care related to the clinical area and relevant legislated acts (PHIA, Protection of Persons in Care Act, Mental Health Act, WHMIS, Principles of Routine Practices). Knowledge of roles and responsibilities of members of the healthcare team and principles of delegation. Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills. Competency in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values preferred. Demonstrated critical thinking/problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize care for individual patients or groups, respond to simultaneous demands, pursue self-development opportunities, perform independently and as part of a team, adapt quickly to changing situations, maintain concentration with frequent interruptions, function in a demanding and stressful environment. Proficient with computers, software programs, and applications such as Windows and Word processing, spreadsheets, databases. Physical Requirements Moderate to heavy physical effort required.
