Position Overview:

The Sales Manager will lead all execution of sales activities related to existing client management and new client pursuit and acquisition, monitoring and reporting on performance against targeted expectations. Guides the team, processes and operations to ensure smooth functioning and achievement of targets. Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and escalate opportunities for sales growth, through targeted outward facing initiatives and internal process improvements.
  • Define strategic sales plans, developed in partnership with sales management team, and execute through internal resources.
  • Communicate trends, information, and recommended strategies to management for support and decision making.
  • Manage direct reports including approving absence requests, documenting performance, giving yearly reviews as well as providing personal and professional development to team members, ensuring that team members meet or exceed set expectations for each role.
  • Overlook staff performance of day-to-day activities with use of internal tools including Monday.com and Configur8or.
  • Manage client relationships and project management both directly or indirectly by establishing monthly expectations including but not limited to revenue and new client acquisition.
  • Plan staff changes accordingly, filling in and deploying resources where needed (e.g. terminations, vacations etc.).
  • Document and discipline any poor performance or behaviour leading up to possible dismissal.
  • Manage workflow dispersion across team.
  • Set and manage towards achievement of sales expectation by analyzing and assessing team activities, processes, and strategies.
  • Initiate, develop and implement systems and processes, ensuring coordination with other internal teams and compliance from sales & support teams. Monitor and course correct, with the goal of continuous improvement of processes that impact the sales function and client satisfaction.
  • Function as liaison between Marketing and Sales team to ensure alignment.
  • Work in conjunction with other team managers to execute on the company's key objectives and vision.
  • Manage all escalated issues on order or project execution brought forward directly or indirectly by clients.
  • Investigate to remedy, any internal escalations around sales team process and people, including but not limited to Configur8or and other system improvements.
  • Travel as needed throughout North America representing PI at tradeshows and external events as required or when called upon to speak to PI capabilities.
  • Other duties assigned by management.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree desirable; with equivalent work experience considered.

Experience:

  • The ideal candidate will have 2+ years previous sales management experience, guiding a team of employees, developing programs and processes to ensure achievement of sales targets and responsibilities included in the position overview. Supervisory experience is a minimum requirement for the role.

  • A demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities to successfully meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrates professionalism in all interactions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (oral and written).
  • Capacity to be entrusted with confidential information.
  • Analyze current methods and procedures, recommend and implement improvements.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to be resourceful and anticipate the teams needs.

Software Application and Technical Knowledge:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite – Office Professional, SharePoint, Visio, MS Project, etc.
  • Proficiency with sales operations and / or retail software systems.
