The role is a comprehensive position that requires the individual to perform financial statement analysis and review, prepare financial reports for selected properties, and provide accounting support to the operations group. This position will report to the Controller and is responsible to ensure that monthly deadlines are met and special projects are completed in a timely manner. This role requires the individual to have a thorough understanding of property accounting, and solid communication and interpersonal skills.Complete year‐end operating cost and tax adjustments and tenant billing (13th invoice) for assigned properties.Reconciliation and understanding of all balance sheet accounts, produce financial statements, monthly packages and supplementary reporting for various properties (office, industrial, retail).Perform monthly accounting functions, including but not limited to balancing of sub‐ledgers to general ledger, posting journal entries, analyzing balance sheet accounts, bank reconciliation and posting monthly tenant chargebacks.Monitor cash flows and anticipate future cash deficiencies.Work proactively with the operations, leasing and construction groups in order to produce comprehensive quality monthly reports and provide guidance on proper accounting treatment.Prepare supporting working papers and documentation for year‐end audit process.Full understanding of all property specific processes and upkeep of pertinent information relating to specific properties.Special projects and other duties, as assigned by the Controller.Enrollment in a professional accounting program &/or CPA or equivalent experience.Minimum 5 years related property management accounting experience preferred.Strong Excel skills a must, YARDI, SPACE (an asset) or other real estate accounting systems.Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French; p>Colliers is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in its workforce.
