DescriptionSummaryThe Psychologist delivers community-based psychology services to clients including assessment, treatment and evaluation services.Job Duties:1.Assess and provide psychological services to clients within full scop of practice§Complete clinical assessments of clients, interpret findings, and communicate findings to clients§Develop and implement treatment plan with the client§Provide psychological treatment, consultation and education to clients to treat and manage Mental Health & Addictions§Collaborate with providers (internal/external) and clients to ensure management referrals and information sharing to maintain clients’ continuous care§Collaborate with supporting services providers to maintain the continuum of services for clients§Participate in case consultation with community mental health staff as requested to meet the needs of clients§Manage client files and communications that occur outside of treatment sessions2.Performs administrative duties in support of the organization’s goals and objectives§Participate in and promote the interdisciplinary provider model§Complete client medical record within the electronic medical record (EMR) database in an accurate and timely manner (see documentation policy)§Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, protocols, procedures and advanced directives to improve client care and/or to promote efficient utilization of resources§Provide consultation services to community groups, agencies and Health Centre staff3.Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position§Engage in professional development to maintain current skills and knowledge regarding the scope of the position§Participate in cultural learning opportunities§Assist in the development and implementation of the organization’s quality improvement initiatives§Network with partner agencies to improve practices, enhance services and move forward shared initiatives relevant to the positionRequirements:1.Mandatory§Doctoral degree in psychology or equivalent recognized by the College of Psychologists of Ontario§Registration in good standing as a Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario§Three to five years’ experience working in mental health out-patient services§Current CPR Level C and First Aid Certificate§Valid Class G Driver’s License, clear driver’s abstract and have access to a reliable vehicle§Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check2.Preferred§Three to five years experience in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment as a psychologist§Experience working within an electronic medical record system§Experience working in First Nation Community health care setting3.Knowledge§Knowledge of First Nation communities of Manitoulin Island§Knowledge of the service providers within the Manitoulin Island catchment area§Knowledge of First Nation health and social issues§Understanding and sensitivity for the Anishinaabe culture4.Skills§Established skills in psychological assessment, trauma related clinical treatment and client outcome evaluation§Skilled in interpersonal relations, teamwork and mentorship§Excellent verbal and written communication skills5.Ability§Strong ability to organize and schedule§Ability to work with minimal supervision§Ability to speak Anishinaabemowin is an asset§Develop client-centered care plan, integrating traditional and western healing practicesWork Conditions:§Frequent exposure to traumatic experiences of clients§Potential exposure to biohazards and infectious diseases§Frequent travel required§Frequent sitting required§Frequent viewing of computer screen§Frequent interruptions within the office environment§Services are delivered within communities, at clinics, and/or on-site at Noojmowin Teg Health Centre§Exposure to wood smoke and the burning of sacred medicines including tobacco, sweetgrass, sage and cedar, may occur within the work setting§Work schedules may include after hours workApply at: noojmowinteg.applytojobs.ca #J-18808-Ljbffr
