Pap Technician Medical Assistant Appletree Medical Group is hiring a Pap Technician Medical Assistant. Position Overview The Pap Technician Medical Assistant assists physicians in performing Pap smear exams and related tasks. This role is ideal for International Medical Graduates or Internationally Trained Physicians seeking to gain experience in the Canadian healthcare system while pursuing medical licensing. Compensation Base pay: CA$17.60–CA$18.10 per hour. Additional bonuses based on services. Location Toronto / Greater Toronto Area; travel to multiple clinics expected. Benefits Vision, dental, medical, and paramedical services (eligible after 6 months). Job Responsibilities Perform Pap smear exams at various GTA clinics. Prepare supplies, explain procedure, and perform examinations. Notify patients about updates and follow‑ups. Register patients administratively (scheduling, payments, etc.). Prepare patients clinically and perform triage. Apply scripts, scenarios, and clinical skills. Use EMR Advantage efficiently. Maintain inventory and follow opening/closing clinic procedures. Manage records and documentation. Train in specialties after probationary review. Clean and sanitize exam rooms, foyers, and bathrooms. Perform additional duties as required. Qualifications Medical degree completed. Completion of MCCQE, USMLE, or NAC OSCE (asset). Residency interviews in U.S. or Canada (asset). Recent medical experience within last 5 years (asset). Excellent English communication; additional languages a plus. Permanent eligibility to work in Canada or valid work permit >12 months. Typing speed 40 WPM. Commitment, reliability, flexibility for shifts. Ability to work at multiple clinic locations. Exceptional customer service skills. Professionalism, positive attitude, enthusiasm, respectfulness. Passion for learning and development. Understanding of medical terminology and patient care protocols. Proficiency in EMR systems and software. Basic IT knowledge. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; attention to detail. Independent and collaborative work ability. Adaptability to changing priorities.
