The Senior Systems Engineer will join the Enterprise Compute Infrastructure team, responsible for compute, enterprise storage, virtualization, and backup technologies. This role focuses on engineering and operational responsibilities with an emphasis on Linux and storage systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, automation experience, and the ability to work independently to meet team goals and objectives. Key Responsibilities Manage the full lifecycle of Linux servers (on-premises and cloud), including deployment, maintenance, security, and decommissioning. Lead security initiatives to harden Linux environments using OS firewalling, SELinux, auditd, encryption, MFA, etc. Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve operational efficiency across systems and storage technologies. Monitor and respond to alerts related to Linux, VMware, and storage systems. Use enterprise tools to analyze and optimize system workloads. Collaborate with infrastructure teams to troubleshoot and resolve escalated system and application issues. Maintain accurate documentation in Confluence and manage source code in Git. Track tasks and projects using Jira. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 7+ years of experience managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux and VMware environments. Experience supporting Linux systems running Oracle databases in iSCSI/FC SAN environments. Proficiency in scripting and automation using Bash, Python, or Ansible. Experience with Red Hat Satellite for patching and vulnerability management. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Willingness to work occasional off-hours. Preferred Qualifications Experience with REST API scripting and automation. Familiarity with CIS standards implementation. Strong experience with NetApp file/block storage (NFS/iSCSI/FC). Experience with NFSv4 and Kerberos authentication. Experience with Cisco UCS or other blade infrastructure. #J-18808-Ljbffr
