Home Support Worker with CareGivers (Brightisle) Location: Seafair Catalina, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Job Summary Reporting to the Client Care Coordinator, the Home Support Worker provides assistance to families or persons during times of illness, disability, or inability to care for themselves. The role supports client independence, assists with activities of daily living, and promotes safe and healthy environments. Responsibilities Provide personal care such as bathing, toileting, and grooming. Complete housekeeping tasks, meal preparation, and shopping. Provide companionship and accompany clients to community events, activities, and appointments. Follow written care plans approved by the Client Care Manager. Deliver specialized care for conditions such as Alzheimer or palliative care when required. Document and report client progress. Promote good mental health for the client. Develop a caring relationship with the client and family. Provide emotional and psychological support. Ensure a healthy and safe living and working environment, following agency guidelines on lifting and transfers. Adhere to and enforce CareGivers’ Code of Conduct. Report occupational health and safety hazards and follow OH&S guidelines. Minimum Requirements Minimum Grade 12 high‑school education and experience as a home support worker. Certification as a home support worker (preferred). Willingness to commence in‑house training. Clear Criminal Record Screening Certificate and Vulnerable Sector Check obtained within 90 days (or willingness to obtain before starting). Experience working with seniors and/or physically disabled individuals. Medical certificate indicating good health. Negative TB skin test. Up‑to‑date immunization record. Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain. Abilities and Skills Willingness to work flexible shifts in various locations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with IT systems for scheduling and client care. Ability to work as part of a team or independently. Good decision‑making and problem‑solving skills. Ability to lift 25 pounds. Ability to build positive relationships with clients. Must be caring, enjoy working with others, have a strong work ethic, and possess a positive attitude. Benefits Competitive compensation.
