OverviewClaimsPro LP Technical Claims Specialist, Property - Remote or Hybrid (Markham, ON)Role We are currently looking to add an experienced Technical Claims Specialist - Property to our team to work in a REMOTE or HYBRID environment.ResponsibilitiesInvestigate, negotiate and settle claimsDirect field investigations as required for exposure and within account guidelines parametersMake initial contact as per account guidelinesReport to client as per account guidelinesIdentify liability exposures, recommend reserves, recommend investigation required for exposure, prepare action plans, and negotiate settlementsProvide high level of customer service to clients and the insuredDrawing on their experience and expertise in adjusting claims and understanding handling processes, the successful candidate also supports adjusting peers through:Providing guidance and direction to adjusting peers on claims handling strategies and issue resolutionSupervising back up and support as required (providing support to the team, approve reserves and payments)Assisting with the training and development of staff on accounts specific processesAssisting with the resolution of claims issues / escalationsProviding secondary resource and contact for clientsQualifications and ExperienceUniversity degree or post-secondary education related to insurance is nice to haveMinimum of 3 years’ experienceCIP designation or working towards designationAdjuster’s license or have completed a minimum of the below CIP coursesC11: Principles and Practice of InsuranceC12: Insurance on PropertyC13: Insurance Against Liability—Part 1C14: Automobile Insurance—Part 1C110: Essentials of Loss Adjusting (Nice to have)Equivalency in combination of education and experience will be consideredOngoing commitment to education and learningEffective analytical skills, including identification of cause and effect dynamicsGood investigative mannerAble to draw valid conclusions and effectively communicate themAbility to interpret complex documents of a legal nature, perform and understand advanced numerical calculations including analysis of comparative informationWhy join ClaimsPro?You will be part of a team of over 700 independent adjusters from 9 other provinces, 2 territoriesYour career can grow into other lines of claims, branch management, across Canada into other branches, or new roles - the sky is the limitYou will work on the industry-leading iAdjust software, designed by an adjuster for adjusters and kept modern with our in-house team of programmers and developersYou will be supported by experienced local claims support, centralized after hours support, and dictation servicesYour claims load is driven by senior executives and business development staff from coast to coastYou are compensated for your billable hours and other costs.
