Leading Geotechnical Engineer, for COWI in North AmericaWe are looking for a Leading Geotechnical Engineer to join our global team of experts and work within a functional team that is responsible for performing engineering analysis, design, and technical reports and drawings for tunnels and various underground structures.This position specifically supports COWI’s role as the Owner’s Engineer for the Immersed Tube Tunnel portion of the new Fraser River Tunnel Project (FRTP). The ideal candidate will be the Coordination Lead for the geotechnical and seismic disciplines.Your key responsibilities will be to:Coordinate the work of the geotechnical and seismic team for COWI as part of the FRTP projectCollaborate closely with the Client, Owner’s Engineer Team, Design-Builder, Designer, and other Stakeholders during the design developmentAct as the coordinating professional to direct COWI’s work in geotechnical engineering, along with being responsible for accurate forecasting, scheduling, and budgeting for the assigned tasks.Contribute specialized skills to the FRTP project and other assigned projects, ensuring adherence to quality systems and effective communication with internal and external stakeholdersPerform & review engineering analyses and design with a focus on seismic analysis and soil-structure interactions for retaining walls, foundations, underground structures, and marine structuresClassify, interpret, and characterize ground conditions from geotechnical data for the design of different structures, including retaining walls, foundations, underground structures, and marine structuresContribute to production, review ,and approval of design deliverables such as technical memoranda, geotechnical design reports, geotechnical interpretative reports, and construction drawingsProvide input in digital delivery and information management of various projects from conception through to completionTo be successful in this role, you will have:A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Rock MechanicsA registered Professional Engineer License (P.Eng.) in BCA minimum of 15 years’ experience working with project design in carrying out engineering and seismic analysis and design of foundations, tunnels, caverns, and underground structures in the Architectural/Engineering/Construction industryExperience and familiarity with regional codes (North America)Basic knowledge of typical BIM and parametric design software, and design software such as RS2/3, SWEDGE, UNWEDGE, DIPS, UDEC, FLAC/FLAC3D, Plaxis 2D/3D, Sofistik, etc.We offer a competitive salary range of $131,000 to $179,000, as well as a range of benefits including flexible working arrangements, top-up parental and childbirth recovery leave, and a personal and professional development fund.COWI provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, colour, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or genetics. #J-18808-Ljbffr
