Purpose As a Senior Product Owner for Open Banking, your primary responsibility will be to lead the development and evolution of open banking products and capabilities, drive the execution of priority outcomes for the Open Banking journey, enable internal teams, make value-based decisions through collaboration with business owners, and contribute to Scotiabank’s evolving Open Banking strategy. You will collaborate with lines of business including retail, small business, wealth, operations, data, risk management, and other stakeholders impacted by open banking capabilities. You will maintain a highly visible and transparent understanding of value, priority, and impact and lead prioritized Open Banking outcomes through alignment of work being shaped, accepted, and delivered by the Open Banking team. What You’ll Do Own the end-to-end vision and roadmap for specific Open Banking products according to the business line and the Open Banking strategy. Translate regulatory requirements, business requirements and market trends into actionable product features and priorities. Define and prioritize a clear value-driven product backlog aligned with Open Banking objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable and compliant solutions. Engage with ecosystem partners (fintechs, aggregators, etc.) to understand needs and business cases. Analyze customer and developer feedback to update products, portals, and user experience. Define and track product performance metrics and ensure continuous improvement. Support the definition of the enterprise Open Banking business model and strategy, including KPIs and benefits. Own the Open Banking Product Backlog and maintain its priorities. Oversee day-to-day development and execution of the backlog, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality increments. Ensure awareness of market trends and use research to inform ideas. Drive change management for related outcomes, including: Conducting needs analysis and evaluating changes. Preparing workflows and procedures to integrate new functions into operations. Determining workflow effort differences between current and proposed processes. Facilitating relationships among key stakeholders with competing priorities. What You’ll Bring 7+ years of product ownership or product management experience in financial services, ideally Open Banking. Deep understanding of Open Banking frameworks, data standards (e.g. FDX, PSD2) and API technologies. Experience working with regulatory and compliance teams on financial data access, consent flows, authentication. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to balance business, technical, and regulatory needs. Excellent communication and decision-making skills in an agile product delivery environment. Familiarity with developer tools, APIs and sandbox environments.
