You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting city building projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.We offer a variety of flexible work options to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life.ResponsibilitiesWhat your day will look likePlanningManage and support the delivery of a range of land use planning projects and other specialized studies for municipal and private sector clients and Indigenous communities across OntarioLead or support the delivery of stakeholder engagement activities and deliverables through in-person attendance at public meetings and preparation of related supporting materialsSupport the delivery of land development approvals projects in Ontario, including Official Plan Amendments, Zoning By-law Amendments, Site Plan Approval, Plan of Subdivision, etc.Collaborate with technical and professional staff from across the company and sub-consultantsSupport client relationships and business growth in Ontario, including proposal writingEnsure professionalism and personal accountability for time management, quality control, troubleshooting of project work, and meeting timelines and budgetsLearning & DevelopmentCommit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional developmentContribute to the career development of supporting staff, including technical direction, coaching, and mentoringContribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committeesQualificationsWhat you will need to succeedA bachelor’s or graduate degree in planning from a planning program accredited by the Professional Standards BoardFull membership in the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI), or eligibility to achieve full membership within two (2) years of accepting the positionFive (5) to eight (8) years of professional planning experience in Ontario, preferably in the consulting environmentPlease note that the candidate needs to be located preferably within commuting distance of the Ottawa area.ExperienceExperience in the successful delivery and management of project-based work as a project manager or project coordinatorStrong understanding of the municipal and provincial land use planning policy framework in Ontario, including the Provincial Policy Statement, Growth Plan, Greenbelt Plan and other legislationExperience in supporting the delivery of land use policy planning projects at a local or regional scaleExperience in supporting the delivery of stakeholder engagement activitiesDemonstrated understanding of the land development approvals framework in OntarioExperience in supporting the delivery of land development approvals projects, such as Official Plan Amendments, Zoning By-law Amendments, Site Plan Approval, and Plan of Subdivision.Strong written skills, with particular emphasis on report writing and policy analysisAbility to think critically and strategicallyHighly developed communication and interpersonal skillsResponsible, organized, accountable and committed to excellenceAble to work in a self-directed, multidisciplinary team settingWhy choose DillonDillon is powered by people who are technically proficient, passionate about socially important projects, and motivated to deliver superior, tangible results.
