As a Health & Safety Lead, you are responsible for applying professional Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) practices at a work/project site. You provide advice and recommendations to operations and clients on health and safety matters while providing guidance to HS&E personnel. This is a site-based position in Metro Vancouver and Langley, BC, supporting our infrastructure division. b>
- Provide advice to operations regarding Ledcor's Health and Safety Management System, based on a solid understanding of program execution throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor compliance with jurisdictional regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the coordination and completion of safe work procedures, hazard assessments, safety inspections, focus audits, and incident investigations.
- Verify compliance with leading and lagging indicators, including subcontractors as well as any identified corrective actions.
- Conduct the HS&E Orientation to employees and subcontractors during project onboarding.
- Support the coordination, organization, and delivery of project toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- Develop and enhance Job Hazard Analysis and Safe Work Practice documents based on existing materials.
Requirements:
- 4+ years’ experience in Industrial construction or related industry, with relevant health and safety experience.
- In-depth understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office, coupled with an aptitude for learning various computer software systems.
- Attention to detail with accurate proofreading and editing skills.
- Proven ability to communicate persuasively and influence stakeholders across all levels of project hierarchy, fostering cooperation and compliance with HS&E standards.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean abstract.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol testing requirements.
Working Conditions:
- Some weekend shifts might be required.
