Our Mission: A New Kind of Health Care for a Healthier Community Our Values: Compassion, Excellence, Courage Our Goals: Quality, Access, Sustainability Our Enablers: People, Education, Innovation, Research Qualifications An integral member of the Diagnostic Imaging department, MRI technologist responsibilities include: performing MRI exams as outlined in the MRI procedure manual; operating, troubleshooting and ensuring medical imaging and ancillary equipment are performing effectively; completing clerical aspects of exam completion; training students and new technologists; continuing education; all patient care responsibilities; observing hospital values; performing cross‑functional responsibilities; performing other duties as required. Duties and Responsibilities Performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures as outlined in MRI procedure Manual; Utilizes technical/medical judgement/knowledge to evaluate image quality, and adjusts accordingly; Ensures proper screening procedure for patient and anyone else entering magnet room; Assesses the patient’s condition prior to, during, and after procedures; maintains awareness of procedural complications and reactions; recognizes conditions requiring immediate attention and initiates appropriate response; documents procedures to ensure precise and accurate procedural records are maintained; Performs other duties as required. Job Requirements Completion of MRI Certification Exam required; Contrast injection course, required; Registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) required; Registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) asset; Experience with Siemens MRI considered an asset.
