We are hiring a full-time Instrumentation and Controls Engineer I or II working out of our Scottsdale, AZ office.
The selected candidate will assist in maintaining the overall performance and efficiency of supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems and data communication networks to ensure secure and reliable operations at our water and wastewater facilities.
What you’d be responsible for- Provide day-to-day support for operations personnel to ensure that process control systems continue to meet operational requirements efficiently and reliably.
- Lead the design, review, and implementation of process control systems.
- Oversee and coordinate contractor installations of process control equipment. Manage occasional contractor projects including scoping and bidding of work.
- Identify and purchase equipment needed for ongoing process control system maintenance and improvement projects.
- Collaborate with the rest of the Instrumentation & Controls team to develop and implement company standards and industry best practices in process control systems.
- Associates degree in Engineering, Industrial Automation, Information Technology, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree required.
- Capable of programming and configuring programmable logic controllers (PLC) as well as human machine interfaces (HMI) with minimal assistance.
- Requires intermediate computer knowledge including an understanding of some of IP networking, SQL databases, Windows Server and Domain management, or use of command line applications such as Telnet.
- Comfortable working on electrical systems including ability to read electrical schematics and use a multimeter and process meters.
- 2+ years of experience with design, programming, commissioning, and maintenance of process control systems. Internships and applicable schooling will also be considered.
- Cybersecurity knowledge including familiarity with firewalls and network segmentation concepts such as a DMZ is a plus.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and Wonderware HMIs preferred.
- Some experience providing field support to internal or external customers preferred. Experience with data communication networks such as Ethernet/IP or radio telemetry is a plus.
