Instructor, Electric Vehicle: Automotive Service Technician Join to apply for the Instructor, Electric Vehicle: Automotive Service Technician role at NBCC (New Brunswick Community College) Location: Fredericton Position Type: Casual to April 2026 Salary Range: $33.85 to $52.08 per hour, based on experience and level of post‑secondary education. Responsibilities Plan and prepare instructional materials and resources for the in‑person delivery of the Electric Vehicle: Automotive Service Technician microcredential. Establish and manage a positive learning environment. Instruct and evaluate students. Build and sustain professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders. Perform other related duties as required. Instructional Areas Electrical System Review Introduction to Hybrid and Electric Vehicles Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Systems High Voltage Batteries Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Support Systems Qualifications Education and Experience: A valid Automotive Service Technician Red Seal license with related years of work experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have a minimum of three (3) years of recent and related work experience at the Journeyperson’s level, including the ability to inspect, diagnose, maintain and service current model vehicles in the automotive service industry. Professional Skills: Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality. Demonstrated problem‑solving skills, analytical ability, and innovative thinking. Self‑motivated, service and results oriented. Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment. Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a team. A desire for continuous learning and growth. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Highly flexible with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to navigate and build relationships effectively throughout the organization. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Additional Training Considered an Asset: Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Service High‑voltage electrical systems: Inverters, converters, battery packs and electric motors Charging station operation Manufacturer‑specific EV Certifications Battery management systems: Diagnostics, lifecycle management, and thermal regulation Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.
