Assembler (Switches) Intermediate - Day ShiftOverviewMechanical Assembler who has a passion for innovation and enjoys working as part of a team. We design and manufacture electric power switching, protection, and control solutions and support customers to keep the lights on.ResponsibilitiesAssemble basic mechanical parts using hand tools and power tools; fasten screws, bolts, and other hardware with proper torque and alignment.Inspect mechanical components to identify defects and ensure they meet quality standards.Maintain accurate records of tasks performed, deviations, and quality concerns.Adhere to safety protocols; report any hazards promptly.Complete in-house training to read basic blueprints and Bills of Materials (BOMs).Use overhead cranes, ladders, and other material handling equipment to move and position materials.Meet department targets and uphold quality and safety standards.Follow all applicable company policies and rules.Collaborate with mentors to apply feedback for improved work quality.Other responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications1-3 years of experience in mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment.Proficiency in performing precise tasks using hands; ability to manipulate small objects and operate tools.Ability to understand basic blueprints, BOMs, and electrical schematics.Strong attention to detail and ability to determine accurate quantities.Ability to work independently and fulfill material requests.Good written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with team members.Basic computer skills; ability to use internal applications.Basic math skills for measurements and weights.Organizational skills and ability to handle requests from team members inside and outside the department.Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measurement tools.Willingness to follow Health, Safety & Environment procedures and report safety concerns.Ability to train and mentor less-experienced team members.Commitment to diversity and an inclusive workplace.PreferredKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles.Work ArrangementOnsiteShiftAfternoon (Mon - Thu, 4 pm - 2 am)Location90 Belfield Rd., Etobicoke M9W 1G4Benefits and What We OfferA safe and engaging work environment with milestones celebrated, competitive compensation, and opportunities to learn new skills and gain valuable work experience.Equal OpportunityS&C Electric Canada Ltd. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
