differenceSummaryDirectly reporting to the Vice-President of Quality Assurance and Support Engineering, the Supplier Quality Assurance Director is accountable for the quality of the parts delivered by the supply chain for the landing gear division.Directly reporting to the Vice-President of Quality Assurance and Support Engineering, the Supplier Quality Assurance Director is accountable for the quality of the parts delivered by the supply chain for the landing gear division.The Director and his team ensure that all components and processes meet the highest quality and safety standards.The Supplier Quality Assurance Director provides strategic direction, leadership, and oversight of the Supplier Quality organization, ensuring products and services are fit for purpose and meet Heroux-Devtek expectations.He carries the corporate vision, develops processes, governance, and operations mechanisms and criteria to qualify, rate and continually monitor suppliers to the highest standards.The Director leads a team of Supplier Quality Assurance Representatives (SQA) and drives a supplier development strategy, supported by designing metrics, scorecards, dashboards, and reporting out regularly to executive leadership on supplier performance.The Director works closely with the procurement & quality organizations, as well as sites general managers, to develop strong business relationships and ensure the different business units get the appropriate quality level from the suppliers.Main ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a multisite team of SQA personnel ensuring their dedication, continuous development and unity as a team.Ensure budget is metManage throughput of SQA department in answer to North America sites requests in a timely mannerEnsure the team performs as per defined service level and KPIManage reporting to upper management and stakeholders through monthly dashboardsFoster a collaborative environment between all stakeholders impacted by supplier quality (SQA, QA, procurement teams, as well as management)Develop, implement, and continually improve processes, systems and tools defining the supplier quality performance management and issue escalation/management, supplier quality metrics, etc. In particular, in the first year, ensure the proper implementation and respect of reinforced supplier control processes.Work jointly with procurement teams in the supplier identification and qualification process, supplier risk assessment, as well as supplier selection in order to secure the businessManage the operational performance (Logistics & Quality) of suppliers in close coordination with procurement.Maintain approved supplier list with supplier accreditationsAssist and support in internal/customer audits/requests for each HDI site.Our Ideal CandidateUniversity degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering preferred or equivalent relevant experience on aerospace complex productsMinimum ten (10) years of relevant experience in the Aerospace Industry with 3 to 5 years experience in managementExperience in processes change management a musExperience in managing multisite multicultural teams a pluKnowledge in Aerospace quality requirements (AS9100, ISO9000, AS9102) customer and regulatory requirements mandatory and experience with Nadcap a plusAbility to interpret technical drawings and 3D models (GD&T)Computer literate and familiar with MS suiteExperience with aerospace Landing Gear or similar complex products is an asset (Manufacturing / Machining of Low Strength Alloy Steels, SS, Titanium, Aluminum, etc.Familiar with technical problem-solving techniques, FMEA, PPAP, 8D, 5 Why, fishbone, etc. Lean management certification an assetExcellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, internally as well as with customers/regulatory authoritieObjective oriented individual, able to propose and push through innovative ideas within set boundariesExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailsAbility to work independently and take quick decisions based upon technical knowledge and “know-how”Knowledge of English is required because the candidate is expected to
