ETSM Technical Services Ltd. is a custom manufacturing facility in Guelph that has been family owned and operated since 1985. We are a custom machine shop and manufacturer that offers a diverse range of technical services — custom machine design, machining, fabrication, welding, automation and process control, millwrighting, and maintenance. We are looking for someone to fill a permanent, full time Purchasing position. You will be required to maintain communications with suppliers to ensure quality standards are met. You will work in a fast paced environment to assist team members to ensure that work is performed effectively and efficiently. Wage will be commensurate with experience. Primary Responsibilities Procure materials from a variety of sources and issue purchase orders Ensure accuracy of order acknowledgements and packing slips Expedite materials Manage inventory levels RFQ’s and negotiate pricing with suppliers for best cost, availability and quality Update raw material pricing in system on a regular basis Communicating with accounts payable and finance lead to ensure accuracy of orders and paperwork. Meet with vendors as needed to stay abreast of latest trends and market fluctuations Receive materials in system from supplier generated packing slips Some preparation of quotations based on price, quality and delivery aspects Logistics and preparation of customs papers for freight loads and arrange suitable transport abroad Update raw material pricing in system on a regular basis Liaison between suppliers and production/engineering staff> Resolve invoice discrepancies where necessary Prepare quotations based on price, quality and delivery attributes Perform other duties/projects/reports as required Experience / Qualifications / Skill Requirements 3-5 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment Post-secondary education in Materials Management, Purchasing or similar is preferred. Highly organized and possess keen attention to detail Possess a positive and professional, solution focused attitude Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in English Self-directed individual who requires minimal supervision Capable of multi-tasking and able to prioritize Adaptable to ever-changing priorities Ability to read basic blueprint drawings is an asset Will also give recognition to candidates with a post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or those who possess a skilled trade background in combination with advanced computer skills Intermediate level MS Office ETSM welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
