This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer in United States, Canada. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and implementing medium- and high-voltage generation substation projects, including solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems. You will provide technical leadership on electrical layouts, schematics, and system integration while ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role involves evaluating vendor proposals, authoring technical specifications, and maintaining project schedules within budget and quality objectives. You will mentor junior engineers and designers, collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver innovative and reliable solutions. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to a modern, secure, and resilient electrical grid, while working on cutting‑edge renewable energy and industrial projects. Accountabilities Lead the design and technical direction for MV and HV generation substation projects, including solar, wind, and BESS systems Develop electrical layouts, elevations, single‑line and three‑line diagrams, AC/DC control schematics, wiring connections, cable schedules, and comprehensive bills of materials Author technical specifications for major electrical components and evaluate vendor proposals and equipment submissions Oversee project schedules, quality standards, and budget compliance while maintaining strong collaboration with project teams Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical support to junior engineers and designers Coordinate integration of electrical systems into the grid, underground distribution, industrial plants, and communications technologies Ensure compliance with current electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards Requirements Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering for generation, transmission, or distribution systems Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) Strong experience in MV/HV substation design, renewable energy projects, and integration into the electrical grid Expertise in electrical schematics, layouts, control systems, and raceway organization Experience reviewing vendor proposals, technical specifications, and shop drawings Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem‑solving skills Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members Benefits Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage with 100% premium coverage for the employee Generous paid time off and paid holidays Employee ownership program participation (MyShare) 401(k) retirement plan with up to 4% company match, 100% vested from day one Opportunity to work with industry leaders on cutting‑edge energy projects Flexible remote work from the US or Canada, with occasional travel (10% or less) #J-18808-Ljbffr
