You’ll be responsible for developing hydro-related projects and business opportunities. You’ll also leverage your expertise in structural engineering, knowledge of the industry, and client relationships to achieve the firm’s objectives. Your main goal will be to grow BBA’s hydropower and Dam portfolio.Type of position: RegularAn Overview Of Your Mandates And ResponsibilitiesStrategic planningReview and update the hydropower and dam safety strategy and action planIdentify target clients toward building a sustainable portfolio, balanced between repeat business and capital expenditure projectsRecommend potential strategic resources and organizations that can complement in-house expertiseActively contribute to business developmentPosition the firm for upcoming business opportunities and prepare pursuit and capture strategiesIdentify any capability gaps and strategic partner or teaming requirements needed to winServe as client account manager (CAM) for some clientsWork with CAMs to ensure a coordinated client management processCross-sell the services of other disciplines within the firmTrack business opportunities using BBA’s opportunity database management systemProvide exposure to potential new clients and expand relationships with existing clientsProposalsReview RFPs and steer the proposal execution plan and deliverables in the direction needed to win, using elements established in the pursuit strategySupport proposal preparation through creative thinking and alternative approachesReview proposals to ensure that RFP requirements are met (technical and commercial) and that the price is competitiveProvide assistance during the proposal and award process and throughout the project life cycleOperational activitiesIdentify, assess and recommend key hiring competencies specific to the hydropower and dam safety sector to ensure high-quality work, and expand marketsActively participate in executing engineering mandates such as study mandates, detailed design, dam safety reviews, etcOversee project delivery and serve as a sponsor or Engineer of Record for selected projectsMentor young and future lead engineers within the organizationSupport succession planning and identify strategic hires who will lead the businessDo your qualities and values match our corporate culture?Entrepreneurial spiritClient-orientedBusiness acumenStrategic and results-driven visionStrong commitment to health and safetyDemonstrated inspiring leadershipSense of equity and inclusionCaring mindset that puts people firstEco-mindfulOverview Of Certifications And Job RequirementsCivil engineering degree from a recognized universityAt least 15 years of relevant experienceConsulting engineering experience in civil structures hydropower and dam design, business development and project executionRegistered as a professional engineer in Québec or OntarioAvailable to travel occasionallyAdvanced level of French and English to collaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients outside Québec.
