Reporting to the VP & Associate General Counsel, the Senior Legal Counsel position provides sophisticated advice on a broad range of third-party risk management activities, technology contracting, outsourcing and corporate law matters for the Bank.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Provide advice on third-party risk management, non-disclosure agreements, outsourcing arrangements, licenses, cloud and SAAS agreements, consulting arrangements, and technology aspects of commercial arrangements.
- Support various client groups within the Bank and represent the Legal Department on a variety of matters including third-party risk management and contractual arrangements.
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships.
- Understand the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Ensure effective operations in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles.
- Contribute to a high-performance and inclusive work environment.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Qualified to practice law in Ontario or another Canadian province.
- At least 8-10 years of relevant experience gained at a major financial institution or law firm.
- Excellent knowledge of third-party risk management and related agreements.
- Strong analytical, written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of OSFI Guideline B-10.
